Maryland Butterflies

Maryland Butterflies

I haven’t had a lot of time to take photos this week, so I thought I would share these butterfly photos from Hoof Beats and Foot Prints. I love butterflies!

Emily Carter ~ Nature as Art

Maryland was more than represented among the exotics at the “Wings of Fancy” exhibit at Brookside Gardens. These beauties can be found among gardens and natural areas in North America.

If one is lucky and discover a caterpillar in the garden, you could bring it in and feed it host plants to encourage it to go into the cocoon stage. Waiting patiently a butterfly is sure to emerge.

Quote

In response to The Daily Post’s weekly photo challenge: “Beneath Your Feet.”

As I have a 2 year old son, I frequently trip over his toys :).  So, in response to the WordPress photo challenge this is what is beneath my feet most of the time 🙂  Hope you enjoy the picture.

Balboa Park Concert

Tonight there was a free concert at Balboa Park at Spreckles Pavilion.  They had Ragtime music by Heliotrope along with dancers and Barbershop singers.  Here are some photos I took of the event.  It was a lot of fun!

#bookstagram

I think this is a great idea for us who love books as much as photos!  Here is my version.  I love that the word Tikkun is on the top book.  Tikkun means “to repair” in hebrew and I do think that books can repair the world 🙂

Moonshot

There is a full moon tonight and I felt compelled to capture it even if it wasn’t quite as good a photo as I would like.  I did like the way the moon contrasted with the house windows in the picture, however.  It looks a little spooky to me :).  Do any of you have advice regarding photographing the moon or taking photos at night?  I would love to hear your ideas.

Purple Flower

Here is a picture I took Sunday at my church.  I thought it came out good with the flower accentuated and the background faded.  Hope you enjoy.
