Photo of the Week #240

10 Jul

I thought I would reblog this post and picture from Avi Gerver’s blog. I love this picture of one of the lions from the San Diego Zoo.

New York Photographer Blog

I just returned from a trip to Southern California, where I wore my tourist hat and enjoyed the sights and sun of San Diego and Los Angeles. At the San Diego Zoo Safari Park I caught this shot of a ferocious-looking lion milling around his habitat in the late afternoon sun. Kudos to the zoo for maintaining such a large and healthy collection of animals from all corners of the globe while doing their best to make them feel at home.

Photo tech specs: Canon 5D Mark III camera, 100-400mm f4.5-5.6 II lens @ 349mm, f6.3, 1/800th, ISO 400.
